MFS31-H is a 3x1 Multi Input Switch and has 2x HDBaseT Inputs as well as 1x HMDI v2.0 input. This allows for the input of 2x remote sources from other rooms, which can then be selected to output to the single HDMI v2.0 output. Remote SY HDBaseT transmitters can be connected and powered from the device allowing for video reception from up to 70M @1080P or 40M @4K.
Auto or Manual Switching Mode - Automatic Switching is available, It will switch to the first video input when it is detected and will then switch to any new video input when that is connected. When a current signal input is lost, then it will automatically switch to the next available live input source. Manual switching can be carried out from the front panel or via RS232 commands.
4K Down Scaler - Compatibility with 1080p display units is assured by down-scaling any 4K (24/25/30/50/60Hz) signal to 1080p. All 1080p or less signals are simply passed through. It’s built in Down-Scaler uses two methods, either Colour Space Scaling performing 4K60/50 4:4:4 to 4K60/50 4:2:0, or Resolution Scaling performing down scaling from 4K to 1080p. In addition, there is the ‘Auto Mode’ which will analyse the capabilities of the connected display and to decide on the best option. Frame rates are always preserved.
HDCP Control - Support and ‘Management of HDCP’ ensures compatibility, allowing you to control the HDCP from the HDBaseT extender. You can convert from HDCP 2.2 down to HDCP 1.4, or simply put the unit into Cascade Mode - No more HDCP issues.
EDID Management - Signals can be tailored to suit all connected equipment by setting the DIP switches on the front panel of the unit. Various pre-set EDIDs are available including 720p 1080p, 4K and other 16:9, 4:3 and PC resolutions. A custom EDID can be saved into a dedicated custom memory location. The extensive EDID management facility can ensure the video source is optimised to suit the installation.
Test Pattern Generator - We have equipped this Professional device with an on-board ‘Test Pattern Generator’ complete with a choice of 12 Test Patterns including Checkerboard or Solid Colour Patterns, at 4K@30/25/24, 1080p, 720p. Types also include Ramp, Stripe and Pseudorandom binary sequence test patterns. Perfect for Set-up and Commissioning. The Test Pattern function can easily be enabled via front panel DIP switches by setting them all to the ‘On’ position or via an RS232 command.
VKA - The ‘Video Keep Alive’ function can maintain video output whenever there is no signal detected on the input, which is ideal for situations when a 24/7 display on screen is vital. You can enable this feature to send out a chosen test pattern whenever input signal is lost, to prevent the Display from powering down. For discreet incognito ‘keep alive’ functionality a Black colour Test pattern can be transmitted for instance.
Audio De-embedder - It will accept and output stereo and multi-channel audio signals to the audio De-embedder output via a combined 3.5mm TRS audio jack. The unit will output audio de-embedded from the currently selected input source as either stereo analogue or digital Toslink signals including 2.0 / 5.1 / 7.1 channel LPCM, Dolby Digital and DTS formats.
Control - The MFS31H has 2x RS232 ports. The "RS232 CTL" port controls the settings of the unit itself including control of all the built-in functions and diagnostic features. The "RS232” allows passthrough commands to the currently selected source.
CEC Control - RS232 commands can be used to obtain the display unit status. Power on/off, and Volume can be controlled via the HDMI CEC line, using universal CEC commands. This can simplify the installation, and is particularly useful when a display does not have an RS232 interface. The commands can be triggered via RS232.
HPD The ‘Hot Plug Detect Control’ toggles the 5V HPD signal which then forces the source to re-communicate with the display. This behaves as though the HDMI cable has been disconnected and reconnected, for forced re-clocking of the signal path, while alleviating the need to physically do so. Ideal for when controlling equipment that is not easily accessible.
Full Diagnostics Various other useful diagnostic parameters can be monitored and controlled, for instance:- as well as ‘HPD toggle’ control there is also the ability to take measurements of the ‘Cat6 cable length’, ‘TX Supply & iPoC Voltage’, and to obtain ‘HDBaseT Signal details’, ‘HDBaseT Link Status’, ‘HDBaseT Signal Error Status’, information from the currently selected ‘Input Signal’ such as: Resolution, Refresh Rate, Colour Depth, HDR Setting, HBR and HDCP, along with ‘Internal Temperature measurement.
Temperature ‘Temperature Diagnostics’ with over heat detection and reporting, and over heat auto shut off facility will ensure system reliability. RS232 commands can enable, disable and adjust parameters of the safety temperature handling of the unit. Real time temperature levels can be reported. When the device enters the Temperature Warning condition, a visual indication is displayed and an RS232 message is returned. The unit can also be set to automatically shut down when the device exceeds the user adjustable Temperature overheat limit. It is possible to adjust the ‘warning temperature’, ‘shutdown temperature’ and the ‘re-power temperature’ values. This feature is designed to help protect the device from instances of unusually harsh environmental conditions, for example in the case of a Comms Room Air Con or AV Rack Fan Failures.
This is ideal for use in all commercial applications including Digital Signage, Education, University Campus, Office Displays, Meeting Rooms, and Home Cinema.
